PEACE OF MIND | MOTIVATIONAL STORY

A Buddhist was going from town to town with some of his followers. They happened to pass by a lake and they decided to stop a little close to it to rest.

After resting for a while, the Buddhist told one of his followers, 'I'm dying of thirst, please move down to the lake and get me some water to drink'

The follower immediately obeyed and went down to get his master a drink of water. When he got there, he met a group of natives washing clothes in the water. While still there, a bullock cart crossed through the lake and the water became so turbid and dirty. He couldn't get clean water for his master to drink. He felt it was inappropriate to give the dirty water to his master and so, he went back to explain things to him.

Getting to his master, he told him, ''I met some people washing by the lake, the water is very muddy and it is not fit to be drunk''

After an hour or there about, the Buddhist sent the disciple to the lake again to get him water to drink. Not uttering a word of complain, the follower obeyed and went down to get the water for his Buddhist master.
This time around, he discovered that the water was no longer muddy and dirty as it was before, it had settled and was clean, hence, fit for drinking. He took some water in the jar he took with him and went back to his master.

The Buddha took the water, looked at the disciple in the face and said, "See what you did to make the water clean, you let it be... and the mud settled down on its own - And you got clear and clean water. Your mind is also like that. When it is disturbed, just let0it be. Give it a little time, it will settle down on its own. You don't need to put in any effort to calm it down, it will happen. It's effortless"

Yeah, that's the mESSAGE OF THE STORy
It doesn't require any effort to have peace of mind. It is not a strenuous job. It is an effortless process. When there is peace inside you. That peace permeates to the outside. It spreads around you such that people around you start feeling that peace and grace.

THIRTY YEARS OLD SON

At last, the train started to move. Filled with a large number of people of various age groups, young, old, college girls, business men and all others, everyone sat close to someone.
An old man was sitting close to
Near the window, seated a old
man with is 30 year old son. As
the
train moves on, the son is overwhelmed with great joy, he was thrilled with the outside scenery. "Wow! Daddy, see the green trees, they seemed to be moving away from us, It's beautiful outside there"
This kind of behaviour is not expected from a 30 years old individual, infact, it is strange, everyone in the train got irritated by his childish acts and almost everybody began muttering something to himself or herself... Jane particularly, remarked loudly, "This guy is a crack, a disgrace and not sociable" The old man heard this but held his peace.

Not so long, it started to rain outside. The 30 year old son filled with joy, exclaimed "oh! The rain is beautiful!" Jane, most irritated of all, with rain drops splashing over her through the open window remarked harshly again, "Can't you see it's raining? You this foolish old man, if your son is mentally retarded, why not take him to a mental asylum and stop disturbing public peace"
The old man at first hesitated, then replied in a low tone, "We are on our way back from the hospital, my son has been blind from birth, he got discharged this morning, he just got his vision last week, and so, all these works of nature are new to his eyes, please forgive us for any inconvenience we might have caused you "

tWELVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW AS A TEENAGEr

In order to enable you live a good life, each and every teenager needs to know these twelve things:

  • In a few years to come, you'd either become great or a nonentity, it depends on you.

  • Due to certain factors, you are likely not to marry the person you think you love. Such is life.

  • That particular thing you hate most about yourself is what your friends admire most about you. People don't seem to value what they have until they loose it.

  • One pornographic picture or video you view will stay in your memory and take control of you (your thought and probably actions) for as long as a period of over nine months. be mindful of what you watch and look, they influence you without you knowing it
    .

  • Each stick of cigarette you take reduces your life by a certain numbers of days. Remember, smokers are liable to die young.

  • The more you sleep the lazier to readyou tend to become. Nothing stops you from reading now, don't let an extra hour sleep ruin your future
    .

  • the more your interaction with narrow-minded people, the narrower your mind tends to become. mingle with people who you can gain from, not those who don't have something good to do with their time
    .

  • you may end up not getting a job with what you studied in school. Grab and cherish every opportunity that comes your way
    .

  • The more you stay with your phone, the less you stay with your books. Being addicted to your phone gets you addicted to facebook which in turn prevents you from facing your books

  • The greatest truth will be told to you by your family members. Your family members want good for you, most advice from family members counts, if you won't take to all, take to at least, some of them.

    THE THREE PLACES

An Arab sheik was getting along in years and he felt that it was time to name one of his sons his successor. He had three sons, who were triplets. He loved them all equally and did not know which of them to choose as a successor. So he sent them off to a distant land and promised that the one who would come back with the most useful learning would get the birthright. The three went off to distant lands; attended universities and visited exotic places. The first brother invented magic glasses with which he could see any place he wished to see on earth. The second perfected a magic carpet on which he sat and zoomed to any part of the earth in five minutes. The third son invented a medicine that could cure any sickness. After some years the three came together for a birthday party and explained what they had found. The first son looked through his magic glasses and saw his father dying. The second invited the other two to hop onto his magic carpet and within five minutes they were at their father's side. There the third son took out his magic medicine and cured his father at once. Now the sheik was more confused than ever, since it took the work of all three of them to save his life.... That is the story of Christian education. It needs three places of schooling: the home, the church and the classroom. If one of them is lacking, the other two won't work. Go ahead, share this story with your friends and those you love.

    hARD WORKING FATHEr

    Father was a hardworking man
who delivered bread as a living
to support his wife and three
    children. He spent all his
    evenings after work attending
    classes, hoping to improve
himself so that he could one day
find a better paying job. Except
for Sundays, Father hardly ate a
meal together with his family. He
    worked and studied very hard
because he wanted to provide his
    family with the best money
    could buy.
    Whenever the family complained
    that he was not spending
    enough time with them, he
reasoned that he was doing all
this for them. But he often
yearned to spend more time with
    his family.
    The day came when the
    examination results were
    announced. To his joy, Father
    passed, and with distinctions
too! Soon after, he was offered a
good job as a senior supervisor
    which paid handsomely.
Like a dream come true, Father
could now afford to provide his
    family with life’s little luxuries
like nice clothing, fine food and
    vacation abroad.
However, the family still did not
get to see father for most of the
week. He continued to work very
hard, hoping to be promoted to
the position of manager. In fact,
    to make himself a worthily
    candidate for the promotion, he
    enrolled for another course in
    the open university.
    Again, whenever the family
    complained that he was not
    spending enough time with
them, he reasoned that he was
doing all this for them. But he
    often yearned to spend more
    time with his family.
Father’s hard work paid off and
    he was promoted. Jubilantly, he
decided to hire a maid to relieve
his wife from her domestic tasks.
He also felt that their three-room
flat was no longer big enough, it
would be nice for his family to be
able to enjoy the facilities and
    comfort of a condominium.
    Having experienced the rewards
of his hard work many times
    before, Father resolved to further
his studies and work at being
    promoted again. The family still
did not get to see much of him.
In fact, sometimes Father had to
    work on Sundays entertaining
    clients. Again, whenever the
    family complained that he was
    not spending enough time with
them, he reasoned that he was
doing all this for them. But he
    often yearned to spend more
    time with his family.
    As expected, Father’s hard
work paid off again and he
    bought a beautiful condominium
    overlooking the coast of
    Singapore. On the first Sunday
    evening at their new home,
Father declared to his family that
he decided not to take anymore
    courses or pursue any more
    promotions. From then on he
was going to devote more time
    to his family.
Father did not wake up the next
    day.
